McCLINTOCK/ENCHANTED MESA TRAILS
Easy | Family-Friendly | Distance: 0.8 Mile
The Chautauqua area overlooks gorgeous views of the Flatirons.

CHAPMAN DRIVE AND TENDERFOOT TRAIL

Enjoy a scenic drive up Flagstaff Mountain.
Along the way you’ll see the iconic red-tile rooftops of the University of Colorado.
Perfect for mountain bikers and hikers, Chapman Trail is a wide, dirt road overlooking a pine forest canyon.
Tenderfoot Trail winds through a lovely, flowering meadow, ending with Instagram-worthy views of Colorado’s tallest peaks.
MOUNT SANITAS TRAIL AND SANITAS VALLEY TRAIL
Moderate to Difficult | Wild Flowers | 3.2 Miles
Meandering both sides of a ridge, the trail leads to the summit of Mount Sanitas.
From the trail, hikers can enjoy lovely views to both the east and the west.
Mount Sanitas Trail, both rugged and steep, is one of Boulder’s most popular trails.
Locals recommend starting with the “staircase” side (Mount Sanitas Trail) and coming down the Sanitas Valley Trail.
During the spring, the luscious green mountain setting is also bathed in swathes of blooming wildflowers.
Easy | Accessible + Fishing | 1.75 Mile
The trail starts at the south side of the Foothills Nature Center.
Circling a lake, the path features a paved walkway and some fine-crushed gravel.
The northeast corner of the trail brings you very close to the lake, making it possible to enjoy fishing from a wheelchair.
FIRST AND SECOND FLATIRON
Moderate | All-Season/Rocky mountain Views | 2.6 Miles
Nestled at the foothills, the weather is generally mild, making it possible, and enjoyable, to experience one of the best hikes in Boulder all year long.
During the summer, hiking the Flatirons Trail takes you across a green meadow, then up between First and Second Flatiron.
The landscape is especially picturesque during winter, and you’ll see plenty of other hikers enjoying views of the glistening vistas and snow-dusted Flatirons.
