Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (BMoCA)

Address: 1750 13th Street in downtown Boulder

Founded in 1972, this world-class museum showcases contemporary art by regional, national and international artists within three galleries and a 100-set black-box theater. The inspired collections and innovative programs continue to inspire visitors from around the world.

Admission is just $1. Free admission is offered for museum members and children under 12.

CU Art Museum

Address: 1085 18th Street in Boulder

Exploring cultural origins that encompass over 10,000 years of human history, the CU Art Museum features a growing collection of more than 8,000 objects representing a wide range of materials and aesthetics. The museum also hosts a variety of engaging art programs including gallery talks, lectures, performances, and workshops.

Admission is free, but donations are welcome.

University of Colorado Natural History Museum

Address: 15th & Broadway UCB 218 in Boulder

Located in the Henderson Building on the main campus of the University of Colorado, this widely respected museum boasts more than four million artifacts and specimens – which has made it among the most respected and extensive natural history collections in the Rocky Mountain/Plains regions. The permanent exhibition galleries cover paleontology, zoology, anthropology and the children’s Discovery Corner. Special events and educational programs are also held regularly.

Admission is free, but donations are gladly accepted.

The Shelby American Collection Museum

Address: 5020 Chaparral Court in Boulder

This unique celebrates the rich race heritage of the Cobra, Shelby Mustang and Ford GT 40 cars and displays some of the most famous Shelby cars ever built. The collection also showcases period correct automobilia, tools, race records and tributes to pioneer drivers of the era.

The Shelby American Collection is open to the public on Saturdays 10am to 4pm.

Admission to the museum is $5.
